Forget the hypothetical, mainly imaginery stuff that preoccupies most of america, far left or far right, we seem to no longer want information, to learn. Instead only listening to stuff that fortifies our beliefs.

HERE IS ONE STRAIGHT OUT OF A HORROR STORY. NAEGLERIA FOWLERI. YOU DIVE INTO LAKE MEAD, NEAR LAS VEGAS. YOU GET WATER IN YOUR NOSE. IN THAT WATER IS A TINY MICROORGANISM, THAT EATS BRAIN TISSUE. COMA. THEN DEATH.

In med school, I learned about this bug, and was glad it was "over there", i.e., not in the U.S. Now it is.

Add to this, a spike in weird flesh eating, often fatal infections, occurring in the ocean near ports. Bet you didn't know that tankers take on thousands of gallons of water to make for more stable sailing. Then once they dock, they dump that water to facilitate unloading. Once they are ready to sail, they reverse the process. Making "over there" closer and closer.

Kayaker has both legs amputated. Swimmer 40's in great health, swims in Fla., dead 3 days later. Strange infection attacking his body. Kayaker had his legs cut off to stop the infection.

I grew up in the ocean. We lived on the beach. I hate like hell, to think it could become a thing of dread. Like JAWS, only much much smaller and more deadly. The incidence of living stuff in our waters is something we all need to be very aware of. And if you are thinking i live in Kansas, not my problem, Lake Mead is hundreds of miles away from any body of water that connects to an ocean.
